Exercise 3
Tending to the Physical

Make five solid choices in the direction of your health every day.

In order to regain our vitality,
it is essential that we honor our body for what it truly is.

The body is a remarkable gift we were given
so that we could fully participate in the experience of life!

When we act without this realization intact,
we find ourselves constantly making choices that damage
our physical and mental vitality.

Exercise

It is important to get regular exercise. The fluids of your body need movement to pump the toxins of your tissues out of your system. This does not have to be torture.  Do what you like. Dance, run, do aerobics, ice skate, roller blade, or even just go for a walk, but spend time every day really moving your body.  Even five minutes is better than nothing. You may not lose weight, but you will have activated your lymph system to begin pumping more fluid and you will find your life-force beginning to grow.

Food and Water

You cannot expect a body to run on improper fuel.  It is important every day that your diet is filled with nutrient dense foods. Live green vegetable and fruits, whole grains, nuts and seeds constitute a healthy natural diet.

Also, bearing in mind that your body is over 80% water, you must be drinking at least eight 8 oz. glasses of clean water every day (preferably distilled).

Before putting anything in your body, ask yourself the following question.

Is this food designed to build my body or destroy my body?

Here and there you may choose to indulge in unhealthy foods, but if you always ask the above question, you will indulge consciously and it will be less likely to get out of hand.

Bowel Health

I am always shocked to hear how many people have less than one decent bowel movement every day.  A truly healthy person usually has 2-3 bowel movements every day. Any less than that is a matter of constipation and should be addressed. There many ways to deal with this.

One of the easiest is to get yourself on a good non-habit forming herbal laxative. There is some confusion on this lately. People worry that herbal laxatives are habit-forming.  Actually herbal laxatives works very differently than chemical laxatives. A good herbal laxative, like cascara sagrada, feeds the digestive tract while it stimulates it. It rebuilds the digestive tract and works with the bacteria to soften the fecal matter and eliminate it. It actually helps the digestive tract get to a point where it can work better on its own.  If you would like to go on herbal laxatives for awhile, an excellent one is Naturolax 2 by Nature's Way.

You will find your own natural rhythm
with the above practices as you go along,
but for now I ask that you
discipline yourself to take 5 solid actions
towards your health every day.

Next week we will work on discovering the box we have fashioned for ourselves to live in.

Have fun!
